| This shows that the total PMC out in the field has been greater through out the whole time recorded in the chart. This also shows how much more influence PMC's have than the army. |

quote 4
"Stiglitz notes that in 2007 private security guards working for firms like Blackwater and Dyncorp were earning up to $1,222 a day or $445,000 a year. By contrast, an Army sergeant earned $140 to $190 a day in pay and benefits, a total of $51,100 to $69,350 a year."
This shows that private military contractors get paid emensly more than soldiers in the army. This also shows that army is not a good place to make money.

quote 3
This shows that the military appreciate the usefulness of private military contractors and don't disapprove of them. This also shows that being a PMC is a good way to make big money.

This is a photo of a mercenary standing guard for a civilian and watching for any potential threats to who he is protecting. He looks to be well trained as well. This photo is on Ralph Deline's blog.
quote 2
This quote shows that PMCs are not capable of being charged with anything out in the battle field with anything. Showing that they are not constricted by the same laws as soldiers in the army.

quote
"The acting ambassador at the United States Embassy in Baghdad suggested that Blackwater apologize for the shooting and pay the dead Iraqi man's family $250,000, lest the Iraqi government bar Blackwater from working there, the report said. Blackwater eventually paid the family $15,000, according to the report, after an embassy diplomatic security official complained that the ''crazy sums'' proposed by the ambassador could encourage Iraqis to try to ''get killed by our guys to financially guarantee their family's future.''
The reason that I chose this quote is because that it shows that the Blackwater representatives have more sense than the U.S. ambassador does.

This article shows that a Blackwater USA MERC killed somebody while he was extremely intoxicated. He killed somebody with his Glock 9-millimeter he fired only 5 shots and only 3 hit which I think is amazing that any hit at all since he was extremely drunk but that shows how well trained that he is and shows how well trained anybody that he works with is as well. The fact that he did that while he’s only a 26 year old firearms technician is also quite a feat as well which but he did claim that they fired at him first but the firm that he was working for came to a compromise so that they wouldn’t have to leave the country completely and shut down all operations in the country because the USA the compromise was reached and the families were compensated for their loss. But the firm Blackwater, comment about the crazy sum that the ambassador suggested was a lot but their comment that the Iraqis would try to get killed in order to provide a better financial future sounds very true.

PMC... Private Military Contractor
MWP... major world powers
PMF... Private Military Firm
what i want to know about my topic
The amount of money that I think someone who has a lot of experience in the army when they become a PMC is around $1000 daily. The only PMF that I know of is “Blackwater” which is a notorious PMF that is well known. The biggest pay that I think someone as a PMC could make depends on their experience and their renowned status as a PMC and mission history out in the field. I think it would be easy to become a PMC if you’ve had military field experience. What I want to know about my topic is what the ratio of experience to money is and how many years of military experience are recommended prior to trying to start being a PMC working for a PMF. I also want to know how many PMF’s there are. What is the biggest pay someone could get being PMC. I also want to know how difficult it would be to become a PMC if you’ve had military field experience.

What I already know about my topic.
What I already know about my topic is that the pay that PMC’s get is too much because it misses with the economy according to the article in. Also the PMF’s don’t use extreme discipline in there groups in the field. They also work for money and don’t care about the morality of their actions so long as they get the job done and also that they have followed parameters that they may or may not have been given. They are sometimes referred to as mercenaries or mercs for short. They get a huge amount of money pending on their experience prior to the job that they were assigned. They are also controversial because people judge them on based by how some people see them as thugs, criminals, or war criminals. Some people see them as people just trying to make money though which is the main reason they are controversial in the first place.
